The newest member of the Spahn & Rose group of lumberyards and hardware stores, Still Lumber in Conyers, Georgia, is a close-knit family. And while Kay Schimmel’s official title there is bookkeeper, Still Lumber employees and customers know her as “work mom.”
The daily ebb and flow of customers at Metro Building Products in Marietta, Georgia, means that sometimes there’s a rush of contractors and builders. Metro Inside Sales Representative Alan Carmichael knows that for those professionals, time is money—so he helps them get their building materials as quickly as possible.
Learning a new computer program, point-of-sale system or online process isn’t always easy. With patience and more than two decades of experience, Tonya Sullivan, Software Trainer, guides Spahn & Rose employees through the intricacies of new company systems. Thanks to her untiring positive attitude and willingness to share her computer know-know, she received the July Above & Beyond Award.
