I bought just under $5,000 of various cedar and yellow pine lumber on 12/1/2021. We used all the materials except for one unbroken, sealed pack of 6 1X6-12' CEDAR T&G V-JT at 36.91 EA for a total of 221.46 plus taxes. I attempted to return the excess material on 12/23/21. It was inspected as undamaged, full pack material with original bands and collars intact and was informed that Metro does not take back materials. I offered to pay a 15% restocking fee. After discussing this with whoever was in the back room, I was told by the CSR that Metro would take it back with a 25% restocking fee. The CSR seemed embarrassed to even tell me this. I found this price-goughing tactic to be very distasteful. The decision-maker in the back room would not even have the courtesy to tell me himself/herself. I left and will not return to buy materials from this outfit again. I had even opened a commercial account. Nowhere was it posted nor was I advised of this "new" (according to the CSR) non-return policy. I am very disapppointed with the way Metro treats its commercial customers. Beware before buying anything from Metro. I guess losing a customer and all who I tell about this experience does not matter to the owner/manager of this company. A Patriot and Veteran.UPDATE:The owner and founder of the company contacted me and offered me a full refund for the pack of cedar slats. I am very impressed with the follow up and the willingness to work with the customer. The sales associates are professional and friendly. The warehouse and delivery staff are awesome. They seem to never take a break and move constantly and speedily bringing out and loading materials on the truck or delivery to your job site. Highly recommend Metro Building Products.

Great place for good quality construction lumber. If you are looking for better grade than what home depot or lowes sells.Staff was nice, helpful, and even said they could order specialty pieces although I was in a time crunch so I went with what they had on hand.

I found this marvelous place just surfing around on the web after conversing with a friend about the purchase of an EGG. I had nooooo idea what was in store for me other than the reviews that peaked my curiosity!🤔. So, I made a conscious effort to go pass this place and see what the hype was all about. I am glad I did, let me tell you. I went to the door, but it was locked, so I called the number listed on the door. Althoughat this time they were only taking orders through the call center and not face to face in the showroom; they made a huge exception! They immediately made it possible to meet with Joe, the manager right then and there. Joe sold me on the product (Large Egg) with his professionalism, honesty, integrity, and no pressure hassle to purchase. The package deal was phenomenal by far. The EGG expert Ed came and set up the Egg and was also very professionally, courteous, respectful, and patient. I will give infinity stars because a part was missing for the temperature dial and instead of mailing it, by golly Ed delivered the piece the VERY next day. This is top notch service at its best! Thanks Joe and Ed. You totally rock the house🙃😊😁🤗😘

I recently purchased a large Big Green Egg package from Metro Building Products and from start to finish the process and customer service was outstanding. This was my first time going to an actual lumber yard that's not just a Home Depot or Lowes. It was recommended to me by my brother in law. Within a minute of walking through the door, Wayne Jenkins greeted my wife and I. He answered all of our questions and was extremely helpful. After we ordered what we had come for, he even printed us out a quote for a bunch of other cuts of lumber we would potentially be needing in the future for our home renovations. By the time we walked out the front door, they already had a fork lift coming around the corner with everything to be loaded in. Even the guy who was driving the forklift was extremely pleasant! Great customer service and great quality wood. I will definitely be back in the future when needing more lumber.
